Being South Asian is a daily battle of trying to beat the "you're cheap labour" perception. To be fair by clients, that is the identity we have created for ourselves. In my decade of doing branding and advertising work, I have actively tried to break this perception by holding myself to a higher standard. 

I dropped out of Engineering school to study management accounting. I had given up hopes about a career in finance, 6 months into my first job. I stumbled upon advertising by mistake (I thought an 'account executive' handled accounts)

Fast forward a decade, I have developed a portfolio of clients from all corners of the world, spanning many industries and sizes. I taught myself behavioural economics and learned how to use it in creating effective brand and advertising work. I have also taught others what I've learned during my 1 year stint as a guest lecturer. 

With my work, I always try to bring the people's perspective into the boardroom. Either because of that or by pure chance, my work has bagged a few awards over the years.
